We aim to be a point of mediation

We aim to be a point of mediation

Our aim is the establishment of an intercultural entertainment center. The African Cultural Center Ulm (AKZU) is intended to be a point of mediation where African cultures intersect with the broader society in Germany.

People who come to Germany from various African countries for reasons such as studying, working, or obtaining training are seldom represented in the public discourse regarding their participation in German society.

For us, it is essential to discuss the involvement of African migrants in the societal development process in Germany. As “bridge builders” to African cultures and African countries, they can make outstanding contributions to local and global coexistence.

The African Cultural Center Ulm aims to provide a platform for Ulm residents with African roots, encouraging them to actively engage in their current living environment and thereby convey a different image of Africa. Additionally, the center will showcase the continent of Africa through art and culture, cuisine, music, fashion, theater and research. It will offer room for events such as seminars, readings, cultural education, and interpretation services (English, Swahili, and German).

Among other services, we offer assistance to new migrants and other individuals in navigating various aspects of life in Germany, including dealing with authorities, healthcare, legal matters, and childcare.

We thank you very much for your donations and also welcome your advice and support!
